Wörthersee 2019

To już 38 lat, odkąd fani Jedynek w topowej odmianie GTI stworzyli hermetyczną grupę, zakochaną w kanciastych kształtach następcy Garbusa, i spotkali się w austriackich Alpach po raz pierwszy. Do ich grona szybko zaczęli dołączać miłośnicy pozostałych modeli z logo VW na grillu. Postęp i upływ lat sprawiły, że Wörthersee przyjmowało kolejne , coraz większe fale fanatyków. Przyszedł więc czas na Golfy Mk2, Mk3, Mk4, i tak aż do dziś. Sześć generacji Golfa później, położone w Karyntii przepiękne jezioro Wörther wciąż co roku wzywa wszystkich, którzy litery V i W mają na zawsze wyryte w życiowej filozofii. Dlatego każdy, kto pojechał tam choćby raz (co według legendy stanowi punkt obowiązkowy dla każdego, kto utożsamia się z marką), przepadł na dobre i będzie tu wracał tak często, jak to tylko możliwe.

It’s been 38 years since the fans of the Mark One in the top variant of GTI created a hermetic group, in love with the angular shapes of the Beetle successor, and met in the Austrian Alps for the first time. The fans of the other models with the VW logo on the grill soon joined the group. Progress and the passage of years have meant that the Wörthersee has been receiving more and more waves of fanatics. So it was time for Mk2, Mk3, Mk4 Golfs and so until today. The six generations of Golf later, located in Carinthia, the beautiful Lake Wörther still every year calls everyone who has the letters of V and W forever engraved in his life philosophy. That is why everyone who went there even once (which, according to legend, is an obligatory point for everyone who identifies with the brand), is for good and will come back here as often as possible.

Wörthersee to jedyny na świecie zlot, który rozsiany jest wzdłuż brzegów jeziora, czyli odbywa się w przynajmniej kilku miejscowościach jednocześnie. Trzeba być zatem przygotowanym na spędzenie czasu w podróży i korkach. My zrobiliśmy w tym roku niemal 700 kilometrów, kursując pomiędzy najważniejszymi punktami imprezy. Tym razem plusem naszego miejsca stacjonowania, była bliskość legendarnej stacji Shell (tak, wiem, że dziś nazywa się Eni vel Mischke, ale kto by się tym przejmował). Co ważne, jeśli z jakiegoś powodu nie uczestniczysz w Wörthersee, dzięki umieszczonym na stacji kamerom możesz śledzić wydarzenia w czasie rzeczywistym. To oczywiście nie to samo, ale to dobra okazja, by wypatrzyć jakieś ciekawe projekty i poczuć namiastkę klimatu.

Wörthersee is the only event in the world that is scattered along the shores of the lake, meaning it takes place in at least several places at the same time. You have to be prepared to spend time traveling and for traffic jams. We have done almost 700 kilometers this year, running between the most important points at See. This time the advantage of our place of stationing, was the proximity of the legendary Shell station (yes, I know that today it is called Eni vel Mischke, but who cares). Importantly, if for some reason you do not participate in the Wörthersee, thanks to the cameras placed on the station you can follow the event in real time. This is not the same, of course, but it is a good opportunity to spot some interesting projects and feel a bit of the climate.

Inne istotne na mapie Wsee lokalizacje to Faak am See, największy plac parkingowy w okolicy, zazwyczaj po brzegi wypełniony projektami, oraz miejsce ‘upalania’; Pyramidenkogel, czyli wieża widokowa, do której dojazd stanowi jeden z najciekawszych momentów pobytu w tym miejscu; miasteczko Velden, przypominające nadmorski kurort, w którym centralny punkt stanowi kultowe Casino Velden; i wreszcie Reifnitz, mające niebagatelne znaczenie za sprawą kamiennego pomnika Golfa Mk2, który stanął tu w latach 90. To rzecz jasna główne punkty programu, ale nie znaczy to, że jedyne- jak okiem sięgnąć, wokół jeziora aż roi się od VW i Audi.

Other important locations on the Wsee map are Faak am See, the largest parking square in the area, usually full of projects, and a place of 'sunbathing’; Pyramidenkogel, or lookout tower, to which access is one of the most interesting moments of stay in this place; the town of Velden, reminiscent of a seaside resort, in which the central point is the iconic Casino Velden; and, finally, Reifnitz, of considerable importance due to the stone monument of the Mk2 Golf, which stood here in the 90s. It is obviously the main points of the program, but it does not mean that the only – as far as the eye can see, around the lake is swarming with VW and Audis.

VW i Audi, oraz oczywiście pochodnych. W kwestii klasycznej szkoły, jedno jest pewne: wciąż nie brakuje Golfów Mk1 i Mk2, choć z nowszymi generacjami do Mk5 jest już gorzej. Najbardziej rozpowszechnioną grupę stanowią modele z ostatnich lat, a więc Golfy Mk6 i Mk7. W ostatnich latach zmieniło się za to oblicze Audi. Dziś znalezienie modeli z lat 70., 80. i 90. nie stanowi żadnego wyzwania, choć nadal prym wiodą najnowsze konstrukcje i nieśmiertelne RS4 b5, które można liczyć w dziesiątkach.

In terms of the classic school, one thing is certain: there are still plenty of Mk1 and Mk2 Golfs, although with newer generations till the Mk5 is already worse. The most popular group are models from recent years, ie Golfs Mk6 and Mk7. In recent years, the face of Audi has changed. Today, finding models from the 70s, 80s and 90s is not a challenge, although the latest constructions and immortal RS4 b5, which can be counted in dozens, are still the leaders.

O najciekawszych autach na zlocie mówić nie sposób, bo tak naprawdę do tego miana kwalifikują się setki przybyłych aut. Na pewno warto zwrócić uwagę na fakt, że pojawia się coraz więcej ‘nietuningowalnych’ modeli, do łask wracają także mniej popularne od Golfa modele, jak Scirocco Mk1, Passat b1/b2, no i właśnie wspomniane oldschoolowe Audi. Wszystko, co godne uwagi, znajdziesz na naszych zdjęciach, które powiedzą Ci więcej niż słowa. Przeglądając je zauważysz na pewno, że oprócz Volkswagenów, Audi, Porsche i śladowej ilości SEATów, na Wörthersee coraz więcej jest też BMW, Mercedesów i pojedynczych egzemplarzy aut innych marek.

It’s impossible to talk about the most interesting cars at See, because of hundreds of cars arrived. It is definitely worth paying attention to the fact that there are more and more 'non-tunable’ models, and the less popular than the Golf models come back to favor, such as Scirocco Mk1, Passat b1/b2, and the already mentioned oldschool Audis. Everything that is noteworthy can be found in our pictures that will tell you more than words. When you look through them, you will notice that apart from Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche and SEATs, there are more and more BMWs, Mercedes and single cars from other brands on the Wörthersee.

Działania miejscowych władz, które postanowiły zaznaczyć swoją obecność jeszcze mocniej, niż w latach ubiegłych, potrafią uprzykrzyć życie. Masa progów zwalniających, betonowych bloków zagradzających pobocza i wjazdy na parkingi, no i kontrole bezlitosnej policji- to najczarniejszy element całego krajobrazu, który jednak nie wystarczy, by odstraszyć prawdziwych miłośników niemieckiej motoryzacji.

The actions of the local authorities, which decided to mark their presence even harder than in previous years, can make life miserable. A mass of speed bumps, concrete blocks obstructing roadsides and car park entrances, as well as controls of merciless police – this is the darkest element of the entire landscape, which, however, is not enough to scare off real lovers of German motorization.

Od kilku lat coraz bardziej popularne stają się dodatkowe spotkania facebook’owych grup, klubów, czy posiadaczy danego modelu. Meetingi Swissbox, VWHome, Donkey-Tec, właścicieli Golfa Mk2, oraz XS Mag należy uznać za te najciekawsze. Wśród nich największe wrażenie zrobił jednak XS Carnight Wörthersee Edition 2.0, zorganizowany na pięciu dużych halach w Klagenfurcie. Poziom tej imprezy zrobił na nas piorunujące wrażenie, dlatego postanowiliśmy poświęcić jej odrębną relację, która ukaże się w drukowanym wydaniu naszego magazynu już za miesiąc.

For several years, additional meetings of Facebook groups, clubs or holders of a single model have become more and more popular. Meetings of Swissbox, VWHome, Donkey-Tec, owners of Golf Mk2, and XS Mag should be considered the most interesting. Among them, the most impressive was XS Carnight Wörthersee Edition 2.0, organized on five large halls in Klagenfurt. The level of this event has made an electrifying impression on us, which is why we decided to devote a separate article to it, which will be released in the printed edition of our magazine in just a month.

W tym miejscu warto zaznaczyć, że w VOLXZONE #3, w którym będziemy także celebrować nasze dziesiąte urodziny, znajdziesz obszerniejszą i bardziej szczegółową relację z tegorocznego Wörthersee, a także serię niepublikowanych wcześniej zdjęć. Tymczasem pozostaje mi jedynie życzyć miłego oglądania szerokiej fotorelacji na naszym blogu.
