Spośród setek imprez, jakie w trakcie sezonu odbywają się w każdym zakamarku tuningowego światka trudno wyłuskać te, które zaoferują uczestnikom coś więcej niż tylko ładne samochody. Jeśli jednak wiesz gdzie szukać, możesz trafić na przykład na Seaside.
Out of hundreds of events that are held in every corner of the tuning world during the season, it is difficult to pick out those that will offer participants more than just nice cars. However, if you know where to look, you can find, for example, Seaside.
Nie będę ukrywał, że kiedy cztery lata temu po raz pierwszy usłyszałem o inicjatywie ekipy Dreamvag, byłem do niej nastawiony nieco sceptycznie. Nie, nie wynikało to bynajmniej z moich wątpliwości dotyczących możliwości grupy, czy jej pomysłów. Problem tkwił raczej w zdobytym doświadczeniu, które podpowiadało mi, że właśnie z uwagi na lokalizację nie ma wielkich szans na to, by przedsięwzięcie utrzymało się i w przyszłości miało szansę rozwinąć skrzydła. Jakże się cieszę, że żaden z organizatorów nie poddał się widząc wtedy miny podobne do mojej! Dziś po czwartej edycji Seaside mogę śmiało stwierdzić, że to punkt obowiązkowy na mapie każdego zaznajomionego z klimatem miłośnika tuningu w Polsce.
I will not hide that when I heard about the Dreamvag team initiative for the first time four years ago, I was somewhat skeptical about it. No, it did not result from my doubts about the group’s possibilities or its ideas. The problem was rather in the experience gained, which told me that due to the location there is not much chance for the venture to survive and in the future had a chance to spread wings. How glad I am that none of the organizers gave up seeing faces similar to mine! Today, after the fourth edition of Seaside, I can confidently say that this is an obligatory point on the map of every tuner-lover in Poland familiar with the climate.
Co zatem stoi za sukcesem Seaside i jego wyróżnieniem się na tle konkurencyjnych imprez? Przede wszystkim (co właściwie wydaje się dziwne, ale to fakt) to jedyna pozycja, która naprawdę wykorzystuje potencjał swojej lokalizacji. To nie kolejny zlot w oddalonym od morza ośrodku, czy na opuszczonym lotnisku. Marina w Pucku daje bowiem nie tylko wystarczającą przestrzeń dla wyselekcjonowanych projektów, ale również zapewnia bezpośrednią bliskość plaży, morza, restauracji serwującej ryby, a także masy pobocznych, znajdujących się w bliskiej okolicy atrakcji. Słowem, dba o wszystko, co na Pomorzu najważniejsze! Zdecydowanie pomaga również bliskość innych kurortów (na przykład do Sopotu mamy stąd zaledwie 40 kilometrów), więc wyjazd na Seaside można połączyć z krótkim urlopem, co zawsze stanowi dodatkowy atut.
So what is the success of Seaside and its distinction in the context of competing events? First of all (what actually seems strange, but it’s a fact) it is the only position that uses the potential of its location. This is not another event in a resort away from the sea, or at an abandoned airport. The Marina in Puck gives not only enough space for selected projects, but also provides a direct proximity of the beach, the sea, the restaurant serving fish, as well as side attractions located in the surroundings. In a word, it takes care of everything that is most important in Pomerania! The proximity of other resorts is also definitely helpful (for example, we have only 40 km to Sopot), so a trip to Seaside can be combined with a short vacation, which is always an additional advantage.
Drugą bardzo istotną kwestią jest sposób komunikowania imprezy i cała tak zwana otoczka. Ekipa Dreamvag od początku dba o szczegóły, dlatego dosłownie wszystko, od plakatu aż po statuetki dla najlepszych aut na zlocie, stanowi tutaj bardzo ważną składową udanego ogółu. À propos, stworzona przez LFANT DESIGN grafika dla edycji 2019 zrobiła na nas szczególne wrażenie. Miłym prezentem dla wszystkich wjeżdżających na teren imprezy kierowców był licujący z motywem zlotu limitowany Seaside Ceramic Detailer ufundowany przez Shiny Garage– to kolejny przykład świeżego podejścia do sprawy.
The second very important issue is the way of communicating the event and the whole so-called envelope. Dreamvag team from the beginning takes care of details, that’s why everything, from the poster to the statuettes for the best cars of the show, is here a very important component of a successful general. By the way, the artwork for the 2019 edition created by LFANT DESIGN made a special impression on us. A nice gift for all drivers entering the event was a limited edition of the Seaside Ceramic Detailer funded by Shiny Garage – another example of a fresh approach to the matter.
Po trzecie, i jak wiadomo nie mniej ważne, samochody. To już standard, że topowe eventy odbywają się na zasadzie ścisłej selekcji, czy to przez zgłoszenia, czy zaproszenia. Nie inaczej jest i w tym wypadku. Mimo wiele sugerującej nazwy Dreamvag, ekipa już podczas tworzenia pierwszej edycji postawiła na obecność samochodów wszystkich marek, co biorąc pod uwagę ‘niechętnie’ obierany przez tunerów kierunek, było decyzją dość oczywistą. W końcu to zawsze szansa na większe zainteresowanie, a co za tym idzie, możliwości rozwoju imprezy. W ciągu ostatnich czterech lat Seaside urósł niemal dwukrotnie, i chociaż wciąż jest to spotkanie stosunkowo kameralne, około 120 aut na naprawdę wysokim poziomie to wynik satysfakcjonujący. Wracając z kolei do tematu ‘wielokulturowości’, i tak tradycyjnie dominują auta z grupy VAG, uzupełnione domieszką Mercedesów, BMW, Hond i sporadycznie pojawiających się bardziej egzotycznych produkcji, jak Mazda RX-8, czy Toyota Supra. Jeśli mowa o VW i Audi, na tym polu panuje duża różnorodność. Prym wiodą klasyczne konstrukcje, dużo jest więc Golfów Mk1 i Mk2, zdarzają się też Corrado i pojedyncze sztuki Aircooled, jednak nie brakuje świeżych modeli, głównie z obozu Audi. Ale tę część historii najlepiej opowiadają nasze zdjęcia.

It is no different in this case. Despite very suggestive name Dreamvag, the team already during the creation of the first edition put on the presence of cars of all brands, which, taking into account 'reluctantly’ picked by tuners direction, was a pretty obvious decision. In the end, it is always a chance for more interest and, consequently, for the development of the event. In the last four years Seaside has grown almost twice, and although it is still a relatively small meeting, about 120 cars at a really high level are a satisfying result. Coming back to the subject of 'multiculturalism’, the VAG group cars are traditionally dominating, complemented by a mix of Mercedes, BMW, Honda and sporadically appearing more exotic productions, such as Mazda RX-8 or Toyota Supra. When it comes to VW and Audi, there is a lot of diversity in this field. The main constructions are classics, there are many Golfs Mk1 and Mk2, there are also Corrado and single Aircooled, but there are plenty of fresh models, mainly from the Audi camp. But this part of history is best told by our photos.
Czy Seaside jest dowodem na to, że dobrą i szanowaną w całym kraju imprezę na skalę większą niż lokalna można stworzyć niezależnie od regionu? Jestem pewien, że tak. Jedynym limitem jest wyobraźnia, dobra znajomość sceny i konsekwencja w działaniu organizatorów. Ekipa Dreamvag jak widać odrobiła lekcje i stanęła na wysokości zadania, dlatego z niecierpliwością oczekujemy przyszłorocznej, piątej już edycji. Zobaczymy, czym organizatorzy zaskoczą nas z okazji ich małego jubileuszu, a i Tobie proponujemy przekonać się o tym na własnej skórze.
Is Seaside a proof that a good and nationally respected event larger than the local one can be created independently of the region? I’m sure yes. The only limit is imagination, good knowledge of the scene and consistency in the work of the organizers. As you can see, the Dreamvag team did their homework and stood up to the task, which is why we look forward to next year’s fifth edition. We’ll see what the organizers will surprise us with on the occasion of their little jubilee, and we also suggest to you to find out for yourself.
