When the world turned upside down in early 2020, many wondered if automotive culture would still exist after the pandemic. Will there be any need to build projects, will there be any car events, will it be possible to meet in a larger group at all. For the next two seasons (I mean 2020 and 2021) in terms of events, much less happened than before, but the years 2022 and 2023 not only turned out to be a return to normal, but even seem to have brought a new quality in this matter. Or maybe it’s just an impression caused by such a long break?

Anyway, recently we’ve managed to collect a lot of material from events taking place in various parts of Europe and we thought it would be a pity not to use it. Since we all missed it so much, it’s worth being able to feel the charm of the best years for the scene again. And since VOLXZONE has been for us, first of all, a chronicle of our own lifestyle circulating around the Volkswagen brand since its first online edition, we had no choice but to share our experiences with you, dear reader. It all rolled into a cohesive sixth issue in print, which I would unofficially call “Show Special”. On the following pages you will find reports from as many as seven selected shows from Poland, Germany, the Netherlands and Great Britain. From small climatic meetings to the largest, organized on a grand scale. From those typically devoted to the VAG group, to those open to everything that’s just cool. In short, a full cross-section of what we proudly call our passion.

Traditionally, we also give you the opportunity to get to know to the top projects. On the following pages you will see that this is also an international group. After all, our slogan VAG SCENE ESSENCE did not come out of nowhere. In the end, all we can do is thank you for being a part of this essence and wish you inspiring reading as always.

Enjoy!

Do you know why VOLXZONE was founded in 2009? Of course, one of the reasons was the opportunity to develop passion and create something in the domestic market that has never been there before. And we did it, but that wasn’t the only reason why we launched an online magazine for VAG fanatics. A very important factor in creating the magazine is the fact that we can give like-minded people a springboard from everyday life. It seems to me that, especially in the present conditions, it is a very important role. Pandemic, war in Ukraine- this certainly worries many and we all need to change the subject. And there is probably no better than artwork bearing the VW logo, am I right?

I really hope that this issue will help you take your mind off the fascinating situations, and there are a lot of reasons for that! The publishing break forced by the pandemic last year gave us a bit more time to prepare the content, so I’m more happy with our ‘return’. It is already interesting on the cover, on which, as usual, we focused on originality. This time we have two projects here. Totally different, totally radical, sometimes controversial, but certainly belonging to the world’s premier league. And this is just the beginning. The number was dominated by Golfs of the first and second generation (an unintended effect), but also for those looking for unusual things, there will be something: Corrado, Audi A8, and even a Porsche 356.

Due to the longing for a full show season, we kept the latest issue in an event atmosphere. Even some of the photo sessions were created during the events, which gave them a unique character. But it’s best to check it yourself!

Have a nice reading and a springboard from everyday life!

No. #4

It is already a small tradition that the printed edition of VOLXZONE coincides with exceptional events on the domestic scene. Going one by one, we released the #1 number on the occasion of the tenth edition of the iconic Wolfsgruppe VAG Event, #2 opened a new chapter in the history of Wolfsgruppe – a series of events under the Żerksee banner. Last year’s issue #3 was a kind of summary of our own ten years of activity on the stage. Taking into account such wonderful circumstances, this year we were faced with an important question: “What event should we associate the premiere of VOLXZONE #4 with?”.

The truth is that we did not have to think long – after all, 2020 is the year when another important summary of the decade is taking place: the jubilee edition of the Raceism Event (for a reason already known to everyone, now called Ultrace). A short conversation with Adrian aka Splesher was enough and here it is: VOLXZONE #4, dedicated to the largest in Poland and currently one of the most important tuning events around the world. We couldn’t miss this opportunity!

In this edition, you will find extensive material that will allow you to go back to the beginning of the event, guide you through the next stages of its development, and check what the creator himself has to say about it. On the following pages you will also read extensive articles about cars that are directly related to Ultrace: you will therefore find the Golf Mk2, the demo-car of Auto Finesse (event sponsor); crazy, inspired by Porsche RWB Polo 86c2f by Thomas Owczarski (special guest); and of course the star of our cover: the otherworldly Beetle Limebug (1 out of 10 VIP cars). Well, this looks like a really specific line-up and it’s not over yet! However, it’s best to see it by yourself.

If you are our regular reader and you remember the beginnings of the VOLXZONE e-magazine, you certainly know how much we care about the consistent concept of each release. We have always tried to make every next issue unique. Today, creating a printed edition, aiming to sum up the decade of the brand’s existence, providing you with interesting material was even more important to us.

From the beginning it was certain that the cars presented in VOLXZONE #3 have to be outstanding. This time, we wanted to show cars that occur in nature less often than the most popular models, or at least stand out against their brothers in a special way. Already during the completion of the materials we realized that following these rules, quite by chance we managed to create something like the ‘Audi Special’ release. That’s right, this issue is largely devoted to projects straight from Ingolstadt. And what are these cars?

If Klaus Peter Krenmayr’s cover RS4 b5 does not give you enough shocking impression, and I doubt it very much, in the middle you will also find a powerful dose of the old school, both in a more classic and performance style.

Purist enthusiasts of Volkswagen, of course, will also find something for themselves. But for now, let’s not reveal the card- I recommend checking what we have prepared for you on the occasion of the tenth birthday of VOLXZONE. I invite you to read a special, two-sided edition and I hope that in the next decade we will see each other in the same place, but in an even better form!

Enjoy!

No. #2

Since the first day of VOLXZONE’s existence, we try to improve every next publication. Regardless of whether it is an e-zine, a blog or a physical issue, we try to improve what is imperfect in our eyes every time. The first printed edition of VOLXZONE got better than we could have expected, but it did not stop us from working harder on the details of the second issue, which we are proud to present in your hands.

Apart from the details of the layout, breaking and similar technical aspects, VOLXZONE #2 also evolved in terms of the material included. Among the 11 projects described, you will find both newer and older cars, more and less classic ones, built in Poland and other European countries. In a word, the material was chosen so that everyone could find something for themselves. On the following pages we had the honor to describe the perfect Scirocco Mk1, custom Jetta A5 Coupe, almost 1000 hp Audi RS4 and anything that could be placed between them. In this way, on 124 pages prepared for you, we presented a full cross-section of the current European VW scene.
We hope that the second VOLXZONE paper edition will meet all your expectations and will take a place on the shelf next to the historical issue #1.

Enjoy reading and only positive experiences!

It is said that every man must do three things in his life: plant a tree, build a house and beget a son. Together with a group of friends in 2009 we planted a plant called VOLXZONE. It grew up very fast so we could take a step forward. Visiting countless events in Poland and abroad, photographing dozens of the best cars in Europe and working hard, we built a solid home that is today called VXZ. Finally, after almost eight years, we have managed to fulfill our greatest dream: to beget a child, and more accurately, to print the magazine on paper. Finally! Does it make us real men? I do not know. But one thing I know for sure is that you are holding the first physical issue of VOLXZONE!

We have always tried to make our work not only fun for us but also, and perhaps most importantly, for our Readers. That is why everyone in the issue will find something for themselves. The variety of styles, as well as the epochs and countries from which these cars come from, is the full cross section of the current VAG scene in a nutshell. Of course this is not the end of curiosities. I just add that the day of the premiere of the magazine is not random, as you will see on the following pages.

Have a pleasant reading!
