#VOLXZONE Magazine

Do you remember the glory days of websites and forums? This is where VOLXZONE magazine had its genesis. In 2008 we started publishing our first car features on the vwzone.pl portal. But that wasn’t enough for us, so the idea of the first e-magazine about modified cars in Poland was born. We published the first issue of the bimonthly mag in 2009 and none of us realized how much the scene needed it at the time! Time flies and seven years later we decided to publish our articles on the blog, and in 2017 we fulfilled our biggest dream and published the magazine in a collector’s printed edition. This is a publication for true connoisseurs, for whom the VW scene means more than just cars.

No. #9

The Netherlands has always had something special about it. It’s a very organized, clean, peaceful country, very green, and cohesive in its architecture, but in our case, that’s not the only thing- we’re not a travel magazine, after all. The Dutch VW scene, as it’s our main focus, has consistently drawn us since our first visit to M.I.V.W. in 2012. Since then, we’ve tried to visit the land of tulips as often as possible. In this beautiful setting, the state-of-the-art Volkswagens look like nowhere else, so last year we decided to experience this unique atmosphere again. You’ll read about the details of this story on the following pages, but what’s important to note right from the start is that during this trip, whose plans expanded significantly compared to our initial plans, we managed to collect so much material that it automatically filled half the magazine’s volume. The description of this adventure gave us the idea for an entire issue, something like a concept album. So VOLXZONE #9 has evolved into a kind of journal, a diary of our activities in the 2025 season, starting with the preparations and organization of the VOLXZONE Event, a trip to the Netherlands, and later also to the Nurburgring and Essen Motor Show, and additional car photoshoots. Everything is in chronological order, something we haven’t done before. However, the Netherlands is immediately recognizable (without any associations), as our cover this time features an absolute legend of legends, Michael Sloopmaker’s Golf Mk1, whose story is so wonderfully intricate and full of twists and turns that it will make your head spin, especially seeing the final result. The photoshoot took place at Nonstandard HQ, whose story is told by owner Remco Gijzen himself, who organized an Open Day to celebrate our arrival. This wasn’t the end of our Dutch adventure either. If you’re curious about what happened next, don’t waste time and turn the page.

Have a nice trip!

#CREW

It’s hard to believe that VOLXZONE crew, initially called volXplayers, had its beginnings in 2007. We were a small group of friends who from the very beginning had a broader view of the VW world than any other local crews in Poland. We wanted to give something back to the community, make an impact on the scene, we were interested in the foreign press and visited top domestic and foreign events. It’s not just a hobby, it’s a lifestyle. Over the years, some members of the crew have changed, but although almost two decades later, we are still based on the same foundations: friendship, commitment and passion.
