Seaside Event 2018

Przez lata zjeżdżania Polski wzdłuż i wszerz przyzwyczaiłem się, że wszystkie najważniejsze imprezy w kalendarzu odbywają się w południowej, w najlepszym wypadku centralnej części kraju. Jeśli chodzi o pomorskie zloty, w zasadzie jedyny naprawdę istotny punkt od zawsze stanowiła kultowa VWMANIA. Kiedy więc nasi dobrzy znajomi z ekipy DreamVAG zapowiedzieli organizację własnego meetingu, nie ukrywam, że targały mną mieszane uczucia. Z jednej strony ucieszyłem się, że wreszcie ktoś ma zamiar podjąć się takiej inicjatywy w północnym krańcu Polski, z drugiej jednak miałem obawy o jej powodzenie, bo jak nie od dzisiaj wiadomo, większość podobnych prób zakończyła się fiaskiem. Nie wiedzieć czemu, mimo atrakcyjności nadmorskich rejonów przyjęło się, że ludzie stąd przynajmniej kilka razy w trakcie sezonu kierują się na południe, zaś ci z południa niezbyt chętnie odwdzięczają się tym samym. Debiut Seaside, który miał miejsce w 2016 roku, rozwiał wszelkie wątpliwości- takiej imprezy zdecydowanie nad morzem brakowało! Druga, ubiegłoroczna edycja, również była udana, choć frekwencja nie była chyba aż tak wysoka, jak rok wcześniej (prawdopodobnie z uwagi na pogodę). Szczęśliwie dla nas, w tym roku Seaside pokazał klasę i dowiódł, że dzięki odpowiednim ludziom stojącym za całą operacją jest bardzo potrzebny.

Throughout the years of going down Poland, I have become used to all major events in the calendar in the southern, or in central part of the country. As for the Pomeranian, in fact the only really important point has always been the iconic VWMANIA. So when our good friends from the DreamVAG team announced the organization of their own meeting, I do not hide my mixed feelings. On the one hand, I was glad that someone was going to undertake such an initiative at the northern end of Poland, on the other hand, I was afraid of its success, because as it is known today, most similar attempts failed. Not to know why, despite the attractiveness of coastal regions, it has been assumed that people from here at least a few times during the season are heading south, while those from the south are not very happy to repay the same. Seaside’s debut, which took place in 2016, dispelled all doubts – such an event definitely missed the seaside! The second, last year’s edition was also successful, although the attendance was probably not as high as a year earlier (probably due to the weather). Luckily for us, this year Seaside showed the class and proved that thanks to the right people behind the operation, it is very necessary.

Za sukcesem eventu stoi z pewnością fakt, że jego organizatorzy już na etapie planowania wyciągnęli odpowiednie wnioski: skoro tworzymy zlot w nadmorskim regionie, zadbajmy o to, by morze rzeczywiście stanowiło jedną z głównych atrakcji. To znaczy, żeby było namacalne, a nie odległe o choćby kilka kilometrów od centrum wydarzeń. I tak właśnie się stało, a w zasadzie należy powiedzieć, że bliżej do wody i piasku już być nie mogło. Marina w Pucku to miejsce wprost wymarzone. Duży równy plac, plaża, morze, restauracje, molo i przycumowane do nabrzeża łodzie i żaglówki, a pośród tego wszystkiego starannie wyselekcjonowane projekty- to opis istnej idylli dla każdego miłośnika niestandardowych samochodów i przyjemnego spędzania czasu.

The success of the event is certainly due to the fact that its organizers have already drawn the right conclusions at the planning stage: if we create a show in the seaside region, let’s make sure that the sea really is one of the main attractions. That is to make it tangible, not distant by a few kilometers from the center of events. And that’s what happened, and basically it should be said that it could not be any closer to water and sand. Marina in Puck is a dream place. A large square, beach, sea, restaurants, pier and sailing boats moored to the wharf, and among these carefully selected cars – is a description of a real idyll for every lover of non-standard cars and pleasant spending of time.

Już w piątkowe wczesne popołudnie, w ośrodku nie brakowało ciekawych aut, co dało nam wyraźny znak, że zainteresowanie tegoroczną edycją będzie wyjątkowe. Tak też było w rzeczywistości, bo już następnego dnia teren szczelnie zapełnił się błyszczącymi felgami, gładkimi lakierami i dźwiękiem podrasowanych silników. Za sprawą związanych z grupą VAG korzeni organizatorów i ogólnych tendencji krajowej sceny, to właśnie samochody spod znaku VW i Audi zajęły większość miejsca. Warto odnotować wyjątkową silną reprezentację Golfów Mk1 i Mk2, które jak zwykle nie zawiodły zarówno jeśli chodzi o poziom, jak i pomysłowość właścicieli. Ale pomijając najpopularniejsze auta, na miłośników rzadziej spotykanych modeli czekał perfekcyjnie odrestaurowany Volkswagen T3, Porsche 964 Bartosza Buckowskiego, czy znane od lat i obecne wszędzie tam, gdzie coś się dzieje Audi Coupe Tomasza Bolewickiego. Dość powiedzieć, że wybór laureata naszej nagrody Best of Show był bardzo trudny i spowodował niemałą burzę mózgów i wymianę zdań. Finalnie padło na piękne, ponadczasowe Corrado Kamila Blumkowskiego, które choć miało swoją premierę w ubiegłym roku (pełen opis znajdziesz TUTAJ), nadal urzeka nas swoją prostotą. Konkurencja była silna, bo na Seaside nie brakowało projektów na naprawdę wysokim poziomie, do których należy zaliczyć Golfa Mk1 R32 Piotra Lipowskiego, debiutujące na zlocie Mk2 R32 z Bytowa, czy 700-konne Audi TT R32 Turbo (to, że wszystkie wymienione mają pod maską R32 to czysty przypadek).

Already on Friday early afternoon, the resort did not lack interesting cars, which gave us a clear sign that interest in this year’s edition will be exceptional. That was also true, because the next day the area was filled with shiny rims, smooth lacquers and sound of tuned engines. Due to the roots of the organizers and general tendencies of the national scene connected with the VAG group, VW and Audi cars took up most of the space. It is worth noting the unique strong representation of the Mk1 and Mk2 Golfs, which, as usual, did not disappoint both in terms of the level and ingenuity of the owners. But apart from the most popular cars, for the enthusiasts of restored models waited perfect Volkswagen T3, Porsche 964 from Bartosz Buckowski, or known for years and present wherever something happens Audi Coupe from Tomasz Bolewicki. Suffice it to say that the selection of the winner of our Best of Show award was very difficult and caused considerable brainstorming and exchange of opinions. Finally, it fell on the beautiful, timeless Corrado from Kamil Blumkowski, which although premiered last year (full feature you can find HERE), it still captivates us with its simplicity. The competition was strong, because at Seaside there was no shortage of projects at a really high level, including the Golf Mk1 R32 by Piotr Lipowski, debuting Mk2 R32 from Bytów, or the 700-horsepower Audi TT R32 Turbo (all of them, accidentally, had an R32 engine under the hood).

W miejscu takim jak Puck, o powodzeniu lub niepowodzeniu tego typu imprezy w dużej mierze decyduje pogoda. W tym roku była na szczęście wybitnie łaskawa, oferując bezchmurne niebo i iście bajkowy upał. To rzecz jasna pozytywnie przełożyło się na frekwencję. A jako, że połączenie lokalizacji i fantastycznej aury stanowiło atrakcję samą w sobie, organizatorzy imprezy nie musieli na siłę wymyślać dodatkowych wypełniaczy czasu, stawiając na odpoczynek i dobrą zabawę, a więc wszystko to, co na krajowych zlotach cenimy najbardziej.

In a place like Puck, the success of this type of event is largely determined by the weather. This year, it was thankfully very kind, offering a cloudless sky and truly fabulous heat. Obviously, this translated into attendance. And as the combination of location and fantastic aura was an attraction in itself, the organizers of the event did not have to forcibly invent additional fillers of time, putting on rest and having fun, and therefore everything that we value the most on the national shows.

Seaside jest dowodem na to, że w północna część Polski doskonale nadaje się na miejsce dla dużej ogólnokrajowej imprezy. Mam nadzieję, że dzięki odwadze załogi DreamVAG i jej profesjonalnemu podejściu do tematu, przynajmniej tuningowa część społeczeństwa słowa ‘wypad nad morze’ zacznie kojarzyć również z samochodami i najwyższej jakości imprezą.

Seaside is proof that the northern part of Poland is the perfect place for a large nationwide event. I hope that due to the courage of the DreamVAG crew and its professional approach to the subject, at least the tuning part of the society will start to associate 'trip to the seaside’ words with cars and the highest quality event.
